Problematic

Geology is the science that allows, among other specialities, to highlight and enhance the country’s richness. This science was developed because of man's need for energy, and materials used to survive. It deals with understanding the mechanisms that promoted these resource occurrences and to predict the zones or the depths where they can be found and possibly extracted.
The North of Africa is individualised by these Maghrebides mountain belts, limited to the South, by the immense Sahara Desert, known for its underground riches. To the North, metamorphic formations aged Palaeozoic, or even earlier, testify to a dynamic and a complexed geological history that is part of the global tectonics. The sedimentary formations are represented, in particular by the limestone chain of the Kabylian ridge (dorsal Kabyle), whose reliefs culminate in the Djurdjura peaks and make the beauty of the landscapes from to the eastern region. Magmatic rocks of different ages known to generate wealth flow and intersect these formations in different places.
To the South, the geology of the Sahara is characterised by the complexity of geological structures, resulting from a long geological history. This structural complexity presents a favourable environment, allowing a diversified natural resource. These are represented in particular by hydrocarbons, mineral resources and underground water.
Many researchers have conducted many studies to describe and to evaluate its economic significance, based on petrographic, structural, sedimentological, geochemical, hydrogeological, geophysical and geomatic studies.
This first international virtual seminar concerns different fields of geoscience. It will bring together geoscientists from all over the world for a meeting covering all disciplines of the earth and universe sciences, with the aim of deepening knowledge and exchanging experiences, new discoveries between researchers. An electronic platform will serve as a link for researchers to present their work in the different themes of this seminar and to advance knowledge in these regions.
The use of new tools such as geomatics, remote sensing and geographic information systems, which greatly facilitate research by the fact that they can cover large areas in a relatively short time, constitutes a significant economic gain, and will therefore be encouraged.
