Future Technologies Conference (FTC) 2017

We're closing submissions for FTC 2017 on 15th April and hope you'll consider submitting your paper(s). 

Future Technologies Conference (FTC) attracts researchers, scientists and technologists from some of the top companies, universities, research firms and government agencies from around the world in the areas of Computing, Electronics, AI, Robotics, Security & Communications. 

Each paper will be reviewed by at least three regular PC members or two senior PC members. The acceptance decisions will take into account paper novelty, technical depth, elegance, practical or theoretic impact, and presentation.

Conference agenda will include paper presentations, poster sessions and project demonstrations, along with prominent keynote speakers and industrial workshops.

Previous Edition (2016): Three hundred of some of the world’s top minds in technology and computing convened in San Francisco at the first Future Technologies Conference (FTC) 2016. The conference showcased deliberations from reputed researchers and technology leaders including a keynote by Laura Haas, an IBM Fellow and Director of IBM Research's Accelerated Discovery Lab. Proceedings were published in IEEE Xplore.

Other speakers included James Loudermilk - Senior Level Technologist at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Science and Technology Branch, Ruzena Bajcsy, Professor at theUniversity of California, Berkeley, Ella Atkins Professor of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan, Bin He - Director of Institute for Engineering in Medicine, University of MinnesotaWatch the keynote presentations and interviews from 2016

L’apprentissage en Contexte

En Afrique, le contexte est central. Personne ne peut se permettre de l’ignorer. C’est un facteur vital des décisions affectant l’investissement, la création d’emploi et le développement.

C’est pour cette raison que, dans l’éducation et l’apprentissage, la compréhension du contexte est essentielle. Les technologies de la communication élargissent le champ des possibles, et il est indispensables que les éducateurs, décideurs politiques, partenaires et investisseurs tiennent compte des conditions et des contextes locaux.

Quelles sont donc les principales considérations culturelles et contextuelles affectant le développement de nouvelles opportunités à travers l’apprentissage assisté par les technologies ? Comment localiser les contenus pour maximiser les opportunités ? Comment appliquer ou adapter les technologies pour faire face aux conditions et besoins locaux ?
Par-dessus tout, dans une Afrique qui change rapidement, comment pouvons-nous maintenir et sauvegarder notre connexion aux traditions et contextes ?

A propos d‘eLearning Africa

Fondé en 2005, la 12ème édition d’eLearning Africa est la plus importante conférence Panafricaine et Table Ronde Ministérielle sur l’usage des TIC appliquées à l’éducation et à la formation. L’évènement de 3 jours offre aux participants l’opportunité de développer des contacts multinationaux et intersectoriels, de créer de nouveaux partenariats, d’approfondir leurs connaissances et d'acquérir de nouvelles compétences.

La conférence réunira des décideurs de premier plan, des professionnels et experts de l’éducation, du gouvernement et du secteur privé afin d’échanger sur les manières de façonner le futur de l’éducation et de la formation sur le continent Africain.

 It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the IEEE International Workshop on Arabic Script Analysis and Recognition (ASAR 2017), which will be hosted by LORIA laboratory (University Lorraine, France), in collaboration with the REGIM-Lab. (University of Sfax, Tunisia), and will be held in Nancy (France) from April 3-5, 2017.

ASAR 2017 is technically co-sponsored by IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Region 8, IEEE France section, IEEE Tunisia section, and IAPR.

  The IEEE ASAR 2017 workshop provides an excellent opportunity for researchers and practitioners at all levels of experience to meet colleagues and to share new ideas and knowledge about Arabic script document analysis and recognition methods. The workshop enjoys strong participation from researchers in both industry and academia.

Accepted papers for authors who complete registration will be published in the conference proceedings. EVALUATION PROCESS The evaluation of submitted papers is based on the importance and usefulness of the research topic. Technical merits, novelty of the approach, soundness of results, and clarity of presentation are also considered as factors of the evaluation process. Each article will be fully refereed by a minimum of two specialized referees. The International Arab Conference on Information Technology (ACIT'2017) is a forum for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to present their latest research, results, ideas, developments, and applications in all areas of information technology. ACIT’2017 will include presentations to contributed papers and state-of-the-art lectures by invited keynote speakers. Tutorials on current issues and special sessions on new trends related to information technology and software industry could be organized. This conference is considered the official scientific conference for the Colleges of Computer and Information Society, stemming from the Association of Arab Universities. The permanent General Secretariat of ACIT is hosted by Zarqa University, Zarqa, Jordan.ACIT’2017 will be organized by Zarqa University, Sfax University and Federal Association of Scientific Research, Technology and Information “FIRST”. At this ACIT edition, Hackaton will be organized at the last day “Training and competition” in order to evaluate the performance of Android applications.

LOCATION

ACIT'2017 will be held at Yassmine Hammamet, a very beautiful town located on the northern peninsula of Cape Bon. It sits on the edge of the Gulf of Hammamet and is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea. Yassmine Hammamet is best known for its wide sandy beaches and water sports, and the city was actually the first tourist attraction in Tunisia.

Yassmine Hammamet is less than one hour from the capital Tunis and its Carthage International Airport and has become a favored touristic destination. The place has everything other than its stunning beach and its good climate; it has a beautiful and charming Medina, hotels of all classes, good restaurants and many options for daytrips.

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS

Researchers should submit a full paper describing their work, maximum of 8 single-spaced double column pages that also include illustrations. The first page should include the paper title, a brief abstract, a set of keywords, and text. Be sure not to include the authors' names in your paper. The abstract should be concise and not longer than 250 words. Immediately following the abstract, no more than six keywords are to be supplied for subject indexing. Keywords should not simply be taken from the title of the paper, but should be representative of the content of the whole paper and characteristic of the terminology used within the particular field of study. The introduction of the paper must be clearly written and should explain the nature of the problem, previous work, purpose and the contribution of the paper. The introduction is assigned number “1”, and following sections are assigned numbers as needed. A conclusion section must be included and should indicate clearly the advantages, limitations, possible applications, and future work. The references section is not assigned a number. References should be numbered in alphabetical order by the first author’s last name. Citations in the text should be by number and enclosed in square brackets, e.g. [1].Electronic submission of papers as Microsoft’s Word document or PDF via ACIT OpenConf is a must.
